NOMINATIONS REQUESTED FOR THE 3RD ANNUAL SUSIE WEST FAMILY CHILD CARE AWARD
Susie West was an example to all early care professionals of Leadership; High Quality; Passion and Love!  She welcomed children and their families into her family child care home and stepped up in leadership roles to improve the quality of care for all young children.  Susie was the owner and operator of Home Spun Fun Family Child Care since the early 90’s. Through her participation as a leader for Santa Barbara Association for the Education of Young Children, Santa Barbara County Child Care Planning Council, the Santa Barbara Family Child Care Association and Team Coordinator for the local chapter of Stand for Children – Susie left a legacy.
Susie left us too soon on July 17, 2009 but her legacy continues. 

In honor of Susie, the Early Childhood community will award the 3rd Annual Susie West Family Child Care Award of $250.  This award will be given to a family child care provider, nominated by his/her peers, who has shown leadership and who continues to seek high quality care for all children in Santa Barbara County. Nominations are now being accepted for the Susie West Family Child Care Award.  Nominees should be an outstanding family child care provider with potential for leadership in the field.
