This information is valuable to child care advocates, land use planning personnel, and potential child care providers. This information can also be used in early care and education grant applications to demonstrate the need in your area. Child Care Portfolio

 

The California Child Care Portfolio is a compilation of data about child care in California, county by county. Every two years since 1997, the California Child Care Resource & Referral Network has published reliable information about the amount of licensed child care and estimated demand for care in each county. Santa Barbara Child Care Needs Assessment

The Santa Barbara Child Care Needs Assessment is published every five years by the Santa Barbara County Child Care Planning Council. Utilizing data from the California Child Care Portfolio, the Children’s Resource & Referral Program of the Santa Barbara Family Care Center, Santa Barbara County Department of Social Services, and various other sources, this document offers extensive data for policy makers and planners. Child Care Maps

The Early Care and Education Initiative sponsored by the First 5 Commission of Santa Barbara developed maps to visually identify the need for child care in Santa Barbara County. These maps show where child care is located by county and region and where children needing child care live.
